NEWTON'S LAW

Bibhu Mohapatra's fall 2024 collection pays homage to the legendary photographer Helmut Newton, known for his radical and provocative imagery. Inspired by Newton's exploration of film noir, expressionist cinema, S & M, and surrealism, Mohapatra takes on the challenge of reimagining these themes in a way that embraces femininity, equity and equality. 

Drawing from Newton’s controversial yet influential portfolio, Mohapatra introduces an alternate world through his lens. In this vision, the collection seeks to represent women of diverse heritages with empowerment, breaking away from the criticisms of suggestive imagery, resulting in a fresh perspective on Newton’s iconic aesthetic.
